Here is another video by him that explains how to get a certain pattern in the metal. This is a great video that shows how to do styling on a blade rather than just leave the deign to the metal.
What factor is the most important in efficiently manipulating metal into a desired shape?

January Blog assignment
Here is a video about what a practical use for blacksmithing comes in. they make a replica of a old viking age lock and key. Very cool so check it out.
Lesson 2 Reflection
1. I am most proud of my props. They not only helped me describe my topic and show some of the processes used but they helped engage my audience. On top of helping engage my audience, I made most of the props which also showed the class what I actually do instead of me telling them.
2a. I would give my self an AE
2b. I was very professional in my presentation. Dressed appropriately and even wore clothes that you can blacksmith in. I was very organized and had every thing in a very logical order that flowed very well. After I gave my answer the rest of the presentation was all about my answer except when I talked about "smith." The "black" in blacksmith helped prove the usefulness of a coal forge and how the heat can be used to color metal and harden it. The Ferrous vs Non Ferrous metals showed the type of materials that can be manipulated with a hammer and coal forge and how versatile they can be. The tool page helped prove why a hammer is the best tool and I even sited sources that explained why the hammer is part of my answer. Then for my activity I went around to each group and showed what they could do differently on each item and better ways to make them.
3. What worked for me was the use of combinations between picture and props. With pictures they can get a good idea but not an exact image like they can with props but pictures can show steps much better than props. That is why I also showed the video for extra steps.
4.If I went back in time I would change the amount of time I had after the activity. I needed a little more time for a break down but I believe it worked very well because I ended just in time.
5. I feel like I will get a P just because every time i think i should get an AE I am denied and get a P because of some exception.

Blog 11: Holiday Project Update
1. I worked on twisting metal to make decorative designs and even handles. I made a stake flipper for a left handed person with two twists and a handle all forged with some scroll work.
2. How to twist metal where you want it without damaging the structure of the design.
3. My mentor or Bob, the person who I Interviewed first because they both have been doing this practically their entire lives and are very knowledgeable in the subject matter.
